Top 10 List to Boost Alexa Ranking
Here is a great top 10 list of things to increase your Alexa ranking that my friend Rob Canyon posted on his blog at EscapeToProsperity.com
1. Create interesting blog posts
2. Use curiosity based headlines
3. Tag your blog posts
4. Talk about authority sites in your posts
5. Put the WP top commentators list in your sidebar
6. Install the WP Comment Luv plugin
7. Use the Yahoo mybloglog sidebar widget
8. Visit other people’s blogs and left comments
9. Reply to people’s comments on my blog
10. Make sure there are external links in all your posts
Just to add some value to that top 10 list I’d also look for ways to interlink the posts on you own blog. That’s good for search engine crawlers as well as alive visitors who will stick around longer on your blog and read related posts.
Check out Rob’s entire blog post on this – he wrote up a whole “report” sized thingy right here <= Click!

I agree, Norm! Since using the Alexa bar I discovered more cool stuff to focus on quality content:

Good tips.
How do you think external links in our posts can improve the Alexa ranking? Because, I think Alexa only counts those sites who are linking in to our site.
Thanks for sharing.

Hey David:
I don’t know that Alexa looks at outbound links at all, but I would focus on the “social networking” effect of outbound links, because you are likely to get reciprocation (if you link to the right blogs), and that makes the snowball bigger of more visitors visiting more often, spending more time, and leaving more comments. – And THAT does boost your Alexa ranking.
Cheers,
Thomas
