Some sites generate a small amount of income from affiliate programs, but others will make a full time living or even make staggering amounts of money, It all depends on the amount of visitors you can generate , what affiliate programs you select and how you're promoting them on your website.

Hi Peter:

Yes, the point that I was trying to make is that the syndication aspect of RSS is way more important and powerful than the subscription aspect.

Because placing the RSS feed of your blog on web 2.0 properties and other web sites (didn't mention that in the video...) will greatly enhance your Google ranking - even for any NEW posts that you put on your blog.

% of traffic totally depends on the search volume of the keyword that you optimize the web 2.0 properties for. If you do it persistently for different keywords that have good search volume but not too much competition the cumulative effect can be huge. (That's how Jeff Johnson, Howie Schwartz and just about every other blog/SEO guru earns their keep...)

Cheers,
Thomas

Can you put a perspective on the type of % traffic would increase by? - as i see it you have to get the readers in the first place, so RSS is helping you with you search engine rankings.

Is that right?
