Alexa Engagometer
Did you know that Alexa actually has a ranking parameter that you can use to check how “engaging” your blog posts are?
It’s called “Time on Site”, and it measures how many minutes the average visitor to your site spends on your site per day. SO, when you focus on writing high quality, engaging content for your visitors, that would be a great parameter to keep an eye on – you’ll be surprised… Watch this now:

Hi Thomas,
I teleported here from the link in the MWA forum.
Nice little explanation. I checked my stats on this and was pretty pleased. Average time on my blog as registered on Alexa is currently 2.8 to 4.3 minutes. That is a long time when most people have the attention span of a gnat.
I particularly liked your “benchmark” comparison with Google. That was a clever move IMO. Well done here.

I am a student of Alex Jeffreys I have been looking around at fellow students blogs and came across yours. Definitely one of the best. I felt I had to leave a comment because your blog is simply, so inspirational and informative, It has given me hope and ideas to better mine.
It is so clean and fresh looking. I am always worried I overdo it myself, to much content you know. Your blog is just right. I would appreciate if you would pass comment on mine just to confirm I haven’t overdone it. On my blog I am doing a theme on successful internet marketers. Really like to know what you think as I am pretty new to all this layout stuff. I hope one day that I can write about your internet success. Keep up the good work

Hey maybe we could follow each other on twitter.
Thomas,
I am just beginning to understand the power of Alexa. I have been watching my Alexa ranking drop as I have implemented various traffic generating strategies. It is really a great tool to measure what is working. I think high quality will always be the number one measure of a good blog. -Norene
